Wellington, July 20 Argument began before the Full Court to-day'in tho appeal cases Alex. Penman v. Bennie, Inspector of Mines. The appeals are against convictions by the Magistrate- of the appellant, who is mine manager for Taupiri Collieries, Ltd., at Ralph's Mine, Huntiy, on charges of failure to cause all parts of the mine to bp examined daily; and to sec that the working of the mine was carried on with all reasonable provision for the. safety of the men employed: The case takes the form a re-hearing. Dr. _ Sahnond; Solicitor-General, and Mr Gillies, are for the Inspector, and Mr-Skerrett, K.C., for the appellant.
