SHIPMENTS TO SOUTH AMERICA

A Motucka correspondent writes:— The applo export season was brought to a close* last Thursday, when MessTs E. Buxton and Co.. Ltd., shipped the final shipment for this season, of 1645 cases. All the apples exported from-Motueka this year have been sent- : t». Monte Video, Bueno f- Ayres.and Rio do Janeiro, South America. . .T.he.'following aro the shippers and number of cases exported:— Cases. E. Buxton and Co., Ltd. 22,634 Moutero Fruitgrowers, Ltd. 12,880 J. K. Moonoy ' 7,974 MoKee and Cook 2,481 Total 46,972 The growers here consider themselves very fortunate in being able to get tho fruit exported without any shortage oi .space. The Anchor Shipping Company have catered well for the industry by putting on extra steamers to lift th-a fruit, in addition to tho two local traders, '
