ONE PROVINCIAL FUND.

The secretary announced that all districts not represented at the meeting had promised co-operation, and desired one fund Mr E. J. Allen announced that so far ? in the city, there had been 380 subscribers. The amount promised to the fund was £1785 17s 3d, and the amount in the bank was £1549 0s 3d. (Applause). Mr H. Everett (chairman of tlie Waimea County Council) moved that there *be one fund for th© counties of Waimea, Tiikaka, Collingwood, and Murchison, the boroughs of Richmond and Motueka, and the city of Nelson. The motion was seconded by Mr J. Hunt (.Mayor of Richmond), and carried unanimously. Mr F. Coleman moved that one representative from each country district be added to the General Executive Committee. 1 Seconded by Mr. Bolt, and carried. Mr Walter Snodgrass then moved that the fund be placed in the hands of the Pulblic Trustee, and that an advisory hoard be appointed to administer tne fund. The Rev. J. R. Dart seconded the motion.Mr Bolt moved as an amendment that, the trustees be the members of Pailiament for Nelson ana Motueka and the Mayor of Nelson. Mr F. G. Gibbs seconded the amendment. . The amendment was lost by a large majority. The motion was then put and carried by a large majority. Mr May moved that the names of those mentioned in his previous motion be the advisory board. Seconded by Mr Hunt. The Rev. T. G. Butler moved, as an amendment, and Mr E. B. Moore seconded, that the present Relief Committee continue, and that the question of the election of the advisory board be deferred for at least a mor*th. The amendment, was put and carried, and. Becoming"the substantive motion, was again carried. Mr Everett moved, Mr Engelbrecht: seconded, and it was carried, that the funds be not handed over to the Public Trustee until the advisory board was appointed. The meeting then concluded.
