SWISS FRONTIER CLOSED.

GREAT MOVEMENT OF GERMAN

TROOPS

(Received July 20, 5.5 p.m.)

London, July 19

The "Daily Telegraph's" Milan correspondent states that the closing of the Swiss frontier conceals large movements of Germans. It is believed that the entire Bavarian Army is being transported either to Flanders, the Vosges, or the Italian frontier.

If it is proposed to throw three or four million Austrians and Germans with a view cf occupying Italy from the Adriatic to the Gulf of Genoa, the Italians are strong enough to resist. They are excellently equipped with guns and ammunition, and have proved themselves equal to the best soldiers ;in Europe.

Italy do&s not expect a German attack, which is also unlikely on the well defended fortresses in the Vosges. It is more likely that the Bavarians are going to Belgium or Northern France.
