There is no -valid reason for the high prices of lead and spelter. While tho British price for spelter is about £100, our enemies pay less than £40. The "Financial News" demands that the Government commandeer all metals. Private Lousdale, a prisoner in Ger-1 many, who was sentenced to death in j April for assaulting a guard, has written to his wife stating that liis sen-! tence has been commuted in fifteen .years' imprisonment. H& ends his letter: "Cheer up, it's only 770 Sundays ."
