Pctrograd, July 19

A communique states that the battle between the Vistula and the Bug attained extreme intensity en Saturday. We repulsed the enemy's onset with valour a-nd tenacity.

We also repulsed ten attacks in the Wilkolaz district. .

Great masses of Germans attacked on the left bank of the Wieprz, and succeeded in making progress in the Izdebno district, but our troops heroically repulsed tho attacks.

The enemy en the 16th■suffered very great losses in attacking positions on the river Volitza, where they left heaps of dead bodies in front of our trenches.

Heavy fighting is proceeding at other places on tho river Bug.

The enemy's offensive against Tukknni and Atlanta is being continued.

Large bodies of cavalry are being employed by both -combatants in the attack on Prasnysz, which is conducted on a wide front and has forced us to concentrate in a. position nearer the Narew. We are also re-grouping our forces to the left of the Vistula, which is being earned out without molestation.

We captured 2000 Austrians, with seven machine guns, who crossed the Dniester on Friday. •
