With the approach of the producing season our fanners will become anxious regarding the supply of tonnage to cany their products to a profitable market. The Prime Minister has a very reassuring view of the position, and he gave to your correspondent the facts which justify his conclusion that ther-3 need be no anxiety

The following steamers are at present in New Zealand, most of them ready to load :—lndrabarah, Athenic, Waiwera, Delphic, Corinthic, Somerset, Tongariro, La BJanca, Indrapura, and Opawa. The steamers available for JulyAugust loading are :-~Ruahm , Makarini,' Tainui, Waimate, Whakarua; total 468,000 carcases. For September loading the following arrangements are in prospect: —Otaki, Rotorua, Niwara, Kumara, Icnic, Whakatane, Hurunui, Hawke's Bay, Matatua; total, 868,000 carcases. For October eleven steamers are already on the list, their aggregate capacity being 1,059,500 carcases. They comprise the following:—Rimutaka, Kaikoura, Turakina, Arawa, Karamea, Rangatira Mamari, Star of Australia, Star of India, Muritai, and Orari.
