AMERICAN SHIPMENTS AT
SYDNEY.

A steamer has arrived with big consignments of American wheat, butter, cheese, and fodder, which have somewhat relieved the famine in these commodities.
Giving evidence before the Commodities Commission in favour of an increased price for oatmeal, Mr. Scott, manager of Parsons Brothers, stated that foreign oats showed forty per oont. more husk and waste, and also ten per coat, more dust and rubbish than New Zealand oats.
