Tho South Wales miners' .< executive are returning homo despite tho promise to meet Mr Runciman. The coal •owners hitherto left tho affair in the hands of the Government. The coal owners have now arranged to meet Mr Runciman on Monday.

The miners' leaders have come to no decision regarding strike pay, tho granting of which will be a serious matter for the union, in view of the Munitions Act.

Wholesale dislocation of trade in the west is feared. Several large works have already closed down. If the strike continues till Wednesday, the coal stocks will be depleted by 1,000,----000 tons.

Unimportant rioting took plaoe at Llanelly, and seven arrests were made.
