NELSON AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION.

MEETING OF GENERAL COM-

MITTEE

The monthly meeting of the general' committee of the above association was held at Richmond on Saturday evening last. Present: Messrs T. H. Holland (President) Dr Andrew, G. W. Best,1 Godfrey Best, John Biggar, C. H. i Ciu'iig, Hayes Croucher, J. Hagen,: J. W. Hagen, W. D.Harkness, W. R. i May, Waited- Thorn and Joseph Wells, j Apologies were received from Messrs E. G. and Noble Win. The following new members were elected: Messrs A. Tosswill (Tahunanui) and G. 0. K. Sainsbury (Richjraond). . Tho Marlborough Association advised I that the annual show will be held at Blenheim on Tuesday and Wednesday 27th and 28th October next. The Department of Agriculture forwarded particulars regarding exhibiting sheep at the Panama Pacific Exhibition. The Department in reply to the request ot the- association for a departmental exhibit at the Nelson Show, stated that the whole matter was under I consideration, it being admitted that Nelson had a special claim this year. Tho New Zealand Council of Agriculture advised that the annual conference will h& held in Wellington on 13th and 14th July. The president, had already been appointed as the Nelson dek-ga'te. ■ \ \ The draft of schedule of prizes for next show, submitted by the Schedule. Committee, was approved. A sub-committee was appointed to arrange for judges for tho show. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr. W. H May, seconded by Mr Croucher, that an auction of exhibits that may be: donated for the purpose, be held at the close of the show on behalf of the Nelson Sick and Wounded Soldiers and their Dependents' Fund. Mr May said that he would give a oouple of hams. Dr Andrew tendered his resignation as-a member of the committee as he proposes leaving for England shortly. Tt was resolved to accept the resignation, regret being -expressed ati losing the benefit of Dr. Andrew's services asa. commifcteeman but his action in offering his services to the British Government was great ly ~ appreciated and a minute to that effect was recorded. Dr Andrew expressed his thanks and said that he would take- whatever was offered* him,, whether it was a position at tho front or in .a colliery district at j Homo. Tt was resolved to replace dead trees at Richmond Park. • I It was resolved to request the Borough Council to form and gravel the footpath from the railway line to the park gates. - -I Accounts amounting to £5 Is 6d were passed for. payment. ■
