The Central Fiuifc and Produce Mart (Messrs Heilly, (:;ill and Co.) report as follows on the 'Dune-din fruit market: —

Heavy consignments of apples have come from the Nelson district. We had r.onie very fine linos of Epps's Seedling. Stunner," Scarlet, etc., Epps's Seedling realising Gs, Gs 3d and Gs 6d, Five Crown os, 5s Gd and 6a, Scarlet, choice, 7s 6d to 8s for extra choice large fruit and 6s Gd to 7s, Lord Wolseley _ 7s, Munroe's Favourito 5s Gd, Delicious choice 7s, King David arrived overripe and realised 4s to 7s Gd per case.

Messrs Henry F. Mess. Ltd., Dune din. report as follows for the week end ed June 13.th :—

For the past week busiuciss has been exceptionally heavy. The large influx nl visitors for tho midwinter show enlivened the local markot considerably, buyers being very keen in anticipation of brisk trade. The weather was gloriously fine over the whole week. Apples are still in good demand, both dessert and cookers. Choice pears met. with good prices, but cocking sorts are .'-till a drug on the market. Quinces are still realising record prices. Potatoes nro much firmer, the shipping demand being greatly improved. All consignments of chaff hare met with ready sales at prices fully equal to late quotations. Oaten and wheaten. straw arc still very scarce and consignments are badly wanted. The following are some of the prices obtained at auction during the week: —

Apples: Choice Jonathan No. 1 grade Bs, No. 2 7s, medium 6s to 6s (i'd; Kibstone 7s to 7s 6d, Stunners Ss to 8s 6d per case; Scarlet Nonpareil 6s, 6s Gd to 7s; Cox's Orange Pippins 7s 6d, 8s to 9s; Epps's Seedling 6s 6d, 7s to 7s 6d. Cooking: Spitzenberg, ilvo Crown Pippin, Lord Wolseley, Munroe's Favourite, Fillbaskets, and iWerner's King 6s, 6s 6d to 7s. Pears: Winter Cole, Winter Nelis, Josephine 2Jd to 2£d per lb; cookers, Ud, lid to l|d. Bananas: Ripe 3£ per lb; green 14s to 16s per case. Chaff £8 5s per ton, f.0.b., sacks included. Potatoes: Best table £5 10s to £5 15s; choice lots £6. Fowl wheat 6s Gd to Gs M per bushel, sacks extra. Oats: Prime milling 4s 3d to 4s id, good to best 4s to 4s 2d, sacks extra. Clover hay £7 per ton. Oaten straw £3 los per ton; wheaten £2 15s per ton.
