A cablegram was received from Captain James Uoulker yesterday, stating that he -was slightly wounded in the left shoulder, caused by a splinter from a bomb. At a jneeting of the Collingwood - Ootuaty Council on Monday the following resolution was passed: — "That this Council having heard that Captain James .Houlker, of the firm of Maginnity, Son and Houlker, has been wounded in action at the Dardanelles, expresses its .sympathy with the firm and with his relatives."

Private J. H. Cock, son of Mr. J. H. Cock, who was wounded at the Dardanelles, is returning to New Zealand by the WiHoebra. He is reported to be progressing favourably.

Private W. Irvine, wounded in action at the Dardanelles, is a son of Mr. J. Irvine, of Christchurch, and not a son of Mr. I>'Arcy Irvine, of Nelson. The hitter has two sons in the Canterbury battalion of the Expeditionary Force. "

Mr. H. FloTverday, of the Colling^ wood Post Office, has been transferred to the Nelson office on promotion. His place has'been taken by Mr. E. Solly, who served hia apprenticeship in the Collingwood ofßce.

Private "R. G. Skilton, son of Mr and Mrs. T. Skilton, of Onekaka, who was wounded at the Dardanelles,, has been discharged to Lady Godley's Convalescent Home at Alexandria.' .

Five 3"oung men belonging to the district wfio are going to .Trentham camp were given a hearty send-off at the picture entertainment ut Richmond on Thursday night. They are Messrs P. Haycock, G. New, N. Bateup, W. Beach, and H. Strawbridge. Addresses were given by the Mayor (Mr James Hunt) and the Revs. A. J. Carr and A. Ashcroft. The volunteers were tho recipients of useful presents.
