In the .Senate.,'Mr. Bakhap advocated the introduction of conscription at the earliest opportunity.
Mr. Lynch, supporting, said ho was sure there was nothing to fear from its introduction.
Senator Pearce, replying, said that no Dominion had done as much as Australia. He did not think the time was ripe for conscription. He added that Australia had seriously taken, up the> question bf the supply of ammunition fi;r small anrra and big guns, and a committee was inquiring into the matter. 7
