In the evening an auction sale ;vas conducted 1)v Mr Alfred Gould the »roceeds going towards tho Belgian "Relief Tmnd. A Mack slieep, in-rchased with £1 given by Mr J, F. HaU, ww sold and resold realising 117 lbs while a white sheep, given by .Mr l. Englebrecht, brought £2 Us. A quantity of "fruit and ve«etahles was also disposed of. as much as 31s being paid for one bunch of grapes. Kitty Rutherford'; dos also collected £1 12s. The total proceeds of the sale realised ±,2J 5s 3d. The sheep were ultimately sold to Mr Ross Oaukrodgei% who will otter them for sale nf Richmond on Wednesday next for the benefit of tho same fund. .„ , Mrs Ktirtzhals- made a magnificent display of point lace, and Mrs T. Heath showed a doll's dross bought in France after the- Franco-Prussian War in 1870.
