SALE OF WORK.

(From "The Colonist,' 5 March 25.) " The annual sale of work in connection with the Presbyteriau Church was opened in the Presbyterian Hull yesterday . afternoon by the Mayor (Mr. W, Lock), * who was accompanied by the Mayoress! Mrs. Lock was presented with a beautiful ijoiiquet by. Rosic Robertson. In introducing the Mayor, the Rev. j. H. MacKenzie said this, was th© second occasion on which he had opened their sale of work, and spoke of the excellent way in which he had carried out his public duties. SpeciaF mention may be made of the basket stall, the exhibits oii which were made by Misses Widdowson and Dodds from cane imported from England. These articles commanded a ready sale, and the supply proved unequal' to the demand. The names of the stallholders are as follows:

Work Stall: Mesdames Maelvenzie,. Widdowson and Thompson. Cakes and Sweets Stall: Mesdames J. Robertson,., W. Robertson and A. Stewart. . ■■'■'. Basket Stall: Mrs. Angus and MissesWiddowson and Dodds. Produce Stall: Girls' Bible Class and Young Men's Bible Class. * Bran-pie: Junior Girls' Bible Class. Tea Kiosk: Mesdames Rowc, Walker,, and Stuart, Misses M. and 'J. MacKenzie, Howe'and Black. Flower Stall: Mesdambs-Weir, Angus, C BarJtrop and Miss Young. Competitions resulted as follows: — Hat-trimming for men: Mr. G. F. Dodds 1, Mr. E. 0. Weir 2. Nail-driving for ladies: Mrs. Walker 1, Miss Stewart -'2. Miss MeCbnchie 3. The sale will be continued this afternoon and evening. To-night a Scottish concert arrantrea by Miss Dodds and MrJohn 'fait wif! be given.
