Flying Handicap: Herringbone, 7.8, 1: Ligerio, 8.1, 2: Merrimee, 7.4, 3.! Fifteen starters. Time, 1.16J-. Champagne Stakes: Two (Wallace) 1, Isinglass 2. Sir John Barleycorn 3. Eleven starters. Two was prominent throughout, and won comfortably by five lengths. Time, 1.17. j Cup_: Scotch Artillery (Hood) I,| Frasca (Baritett) 2, Outzer (Killorn) 3. Non-starter: Taunter. At. the start Scotch Artillery made the pace from Otfa, Carlita, My Gavonui, and Cisco. This order was unchanged passing -the stand. Scotch Artillery continued to increase his iead and entered' the j straight six lengths of Off a, Frasca, and Secret Service. At' the distance Frasca challenged Scotch Artillery, but was stalled off. A great race was won by half a length. Time, 3.36-}-. First Steeplechase: Forest Prince (Moon), 11.7, 1; Bibbenluke (Clifton), J. 1.0, 2; Icon (Hegarty), 10.10, 3. Eight starters. Won by a nock. lime, 5.26 : \. Nursery Handicap: Ornato, 6.10, 1; Lapenna, 6.7, 2; Aginoourt, 7.0, 3. Nineteen starters. Won by a length. Time, j 2.13 i Tho stewards investigated a com- j plaint by the part-owner of Carlita that Bracken did not ride according to in-; strucoions in the St. Leger. The st.ew-, ards found that Bracken did bis best, and did not go to the front'simply be-; cause he could not without unduly forcing his mount.
