QUEEN MARY'S THANKS
Lady Liverpool has received the following letter from Queen Mary : _ "Buckingham Palace, London, "January 22nd, 1915. "Dear Lady Liverpool,—l have received with feelings of great satisfaction the generous gifts of socks and belts which you have so kindly sent me from' the people of New Zealand, whom.l remember so well on the occasion of our memorable visit there in 1901. , "I heartily appreciate the> ready response which has been made to my appeal by all classes of the community throughout the Dominion, and I am deeply touched to hear that contribu-j tions have even been received from j schools far away in the backblocks. i "I would like to suggest that aivy \ further supplies you may - receive j should bf utilised for the benefit -:f the New Zealand E mMitidiiary Force, which is sure to be in need of such comforts. . - "May I take tin's opportunity or expressing to you ray sincere gratitude for your very kind and valuable assistance Y .
