FOOTBALL.
RIVAL CLUB
The, annual general meeting of the Rival Football Club was held in. Mr. OpieV rooms last night. There was a ■ splendid muster of members, and Mr. Charles Leaper presided. The annual report disclosed a most .successful season during 1914. The Senior team were runners-up for the Senior Cup, and the Junior team won the Junior Oup. The Third Class were runners-up for the banner, and in the seven-a-side competition the B team were victorious. The statement' of accounts disclosed a small debit, on account of several members failing to pay subscriptions, but prospects augur well for a much improved position in this respect in the coming season. The report expressed the Club's hearty appreciation of the action of ihe following members who had joined the Expeditionary Force: Messrs. Watson, Perry, Bennett, Harvey, A. McConchie, Kemp, Huse, C. Louisson, Sadd, Bracofield, Stone, J. Laird, J. Bennett and Westrupp. i Twenty-three . new members were elected.
The election,, of officers resulted as follows: Patron, Dr Andrew; president, Mr. C. Leap'ir; \ -ice-presidents, Messrs. C. Miner, C. Williams, J. Richards, E. Opie, G. Shrimpton, H. Atn.ore, White, R. Watson, A. Lucas, T. Harford, W. Lock, J. E. Homisell, H. Baigent and V. Spiers; club captain, Mr. J. Grigg: .secretary, Mr. A. Ivitchirsg; management committee, Messrs. T. Burke, S.
King, E. Brookes, N. Edwards, H. . Brough and H. Hargreaves; delegates - to Nelson Rugby Union, Messrs Shrimpton J. Grigg, E. Brookes, J. Burnip, . and A. Kitenmg; coaches, senior and junior, Mr. J. K. Johnston©, third class, . Mr. E. Brookes. It» was resolved that tho season commence immediately after the camp. A hearty vote of thanks to the chair- - man concluded the meeting.
