Four men, named Lynch, Short, Fuller, and Burke, who were acquitted at the last session of the Supreme Court on a charge of conspiring to defraud a Maori by card-playing in a train, were found guilty at the Magistrate's Court on a charge of gambling on the railway- Fuller and Short were each fined £50 or three months' imprisonment, and Burke and Lynch £30 or ■£wo months' imprisonment. No time w&b allowed in which to pay the fines.
