A "Daily Mail" correspondent, describing the bombardment of the Dardanelles, states that the Triumph did more fighting than any other vesso, < f the British fleet. She fired more heavy shells than any ship in the Navy's Hstory, wrecking gun after gun, brink'? and earth somersalting, and guns and heaps of old stone and cannon-balls were sent rocketing skywards with every hit.
The Turks at nightfall &et fire to the forts and barracks.
