Wellington, March 16. A yonng man named Patrick Lee, who had pleaded guilty to three charges of breaking, entering and theft in. the Wairarapa district, was sentenced at the Supreme Court. He was committed for two years' reformative treatment on a charge of stealing a horse and cover. On the other charges he. was ordered to come up for sentence when called apon. Cisborne, March 16. At the Supreme Court to-day, Paku Peakman, a Maori hailing from Wairoa^ was found not guilty of manslaughter The charge arose out of the death of Gerhard Howe after his being knocked down by the accused's motorcar on February 13th in Gisborne.
