RETURNED SOLDIERS.

©f the returned troops from Egypt, '10 who deserted at Albany were sent North this morning. Prior to their dejparture, some excitement was caused |by one member trying to make his escape from tho Central Battery. He was caught in a hotel. Two other members who had been brought back on account of misconduct in Egypt have been discharged, as they had been given punishment for their offences by the military authorities in Egypt. Of 22 invalided soldiers who were admitted to the Dunedin Hospital, five haire been discharged from the institution as totally recovered. These men will be sent home on leave. Thirteen are detained in the Hospital, and one will be sent for special treatment. None ot the cases are associated with diseases that ■occasion- much talk.
