Mr T. A. H. Field had a pood meeting at Ranzau last night. There was a very largo attendance. Mr Arthur Shirtliff was voted to the chaiv. Mr Field dwelt upon the great • strike. There were three parties, lie said, at the present time—the .Reform party, the Ward party, and the extreme Labour party. The Ward patty could not hope for success without the aid of the extreme Labour party, who would in that case hold the balance of power. Although in a minority, they would, in that event, b« in a position to dictate to Parliament—the tail woxild. wag the dog. A vote of thanks to the candidate and of confidence in the Reform Government was proposed by Mr F. Wl. Smith and seconded by Mr 11. S. Hayfcock, and carried unanimously.
