James McDermid, who escaped from custody yesterday while working at Otatara, v/as recaptured this forenoon *in the vicinity of a liousc near tbo scene of -his bolt. McDerjnid had crossed the river, and entered the house, and abstracted clothing and provisions. When found be had by him a butcher's knife, also- taken from tha house. Ho 'lid not make any lesistance.
