DUTCH COASTGUARDS' STORY.

TWO GERMAN SUBMARINES SEEN

(Received Oct. 8, 10.30 p.m.)

Amsterdam, Oct. 7

A torpedoer was patrolling the mouth of the Ems when Dutch coastguards heard an explosion and saw a high column of water rise over her bows. The torpedoer capsized and sank in three minutes.

Some minutes later two German submarines rose up, and soon after a German cruiser steamed up and rescued some of the torpedoer's crew.

Later in the day several torpedoers were patrolling the spot.
