Sir,— In the published report of today's proceedings of the Nelson Harbour Board the following item appears: "The chairman (Mr G. Macmahon) said the secretary had informed him that the seat occupied by Mr. John Graham had become vacant owing to his being absent without leave from four consecutive meetings of the Board." To prevent a possible wrong impression being conveyed to the public kindly pefmi me to state that at no" time have I "occupied" the seat referred to above, and even had I desired to do so, I have possessed no legal right to attend, as a member, any one of the last" four monthly meetings of the Nelson Harbour Board. j I am, etc., I JOHN GRAHAM.
