At the proper time he would concentrate his energy to make the. Amending Bill a real one, and not a Bill to mutilate and divide Ireland. He had always considered that civil war was fin impossibility. He urged Catholics and Protestants 'to unite to solve the Home Rule problem.

,Mr William O'Brien, speaking at Cork, said it required the utmost discretion and toleration to uplift Homo Rule out of the rut in which it had got jammed. He and Mr Redmcnd wore now agreed as to the right thing.
