THE IRISH CRISIS.

HOME RULE AMENDMENT BILL,

ANNOUNCEMENT IN THE HOUSE

Of LORDS

PRINCIPAL MEASURE DEFERRED,

London, June 30

Lord Crewe, in the House of Lords, intimated that the Home Rule Bill would stand over until the Amending Bill was read the second time.

Colonel Maurice Moore, inspecting the National Volunteers at Athenry, in Galway, said the immediate purpose of the movement was to defend Home Rule; but the spirit animating them was the spirit of Wolfe Tone and Emmet of the Fenians, and men of '48 and '67. This was the spirit which would raise Ireland into a great nation.
