PERMANENT PICTURES
At both performances at tho Theatre Royal on Saturday the hqwso was packed to its utmost. To-night a special change is advertised, the star feature being an Edison production of the famous comedy "Caste," which has delightod so .many audiences ovory where it has been staged. The story ■ deals with Eoclos, a profligate drunkard, who is tho father of two beautiful daughters, Tolly and Esther. George d'Alroy, a young' officer in the British Army," becomes infatuated with Esther, and soon marries her, without tolling his mother, the Marchioness d'Alroy. A few months later George's regiment is ordered to the front. The farewell scene between husband and wife is, broken by the appearance of tho Marchioness. She refuses to recognise her daughter-in-law, and George sets sail. Tie is seriously wounded, and news of his death is sent to England. Esther, with her baby, leaves her husband's house, and goes to her family. Later the Marchioness calls and haughtily offers to take the child and give Esther an allowance. But she refuses to be separated from her child. Happily, d'Alroy i© not dead. He returns, and effects a reconciliation between aristocracy and democracy, which gives the picture a satisfactory* ending. ' The supporting itoi/is ar©' exceptionally well selected. A funny Keystone comedy entitled "Mother's Baby" will lx> screened again by special request. The management have pleasure in announcing that they have acquired a fine -Selig star feature entitled "Midst Raging Blasts" for a limited number of'nights.
