A large^ and appreciative audience witnessed th© splendid programme presented at the Theatre Royal last evening. To-night a special change is. advertised, headed by a gorgeous Vitagraph production, entitled "The- Course of the Golden Land," in which Wolf Selzman, a Russian peasant, leaves his wife and son with his parents and goes to America to seek a fortune. Ho finds work in a clothing factory, and soon holds the position of chief designer for his firm. .At first he _ writes regularly to his wife, but becoming obsessed with his plans for success ceases to write at all: His wife is in despair. He meets Jacob Morganstein, who introduces him to his daughter Rebecca, with .whom he falls in love. Wolf decides to divorce his wife, the only pangs of remorse'he snffers coming at the thought of his little son. In Russia Sara decides to go to.America to seek her husband. Mr Morganstein's business suffers from the competition of the house which employs Wolf. Wolf enters into partnership with Morganstein, and immediately th-. fortunes of th© firm shows a change for the better. Sara and her son meanwhile having landed have sought high and low for Wolf, who has changed his name for that of Victor Selz. Their money is soon exhausted, 'and both secure employmc-nt by chance in Morganstein '& factory, Alex as errand boy and his mother as finisher. Having secured his divorce. Wolf determines to propose to Miss Morganstein. He writes a letter and proposes to send her a bouquet by one of the errand boys. In response to a call, Alex enters. He recognises His dialect, ,and is filled with remorse, and, becoming reconciled to them, begs for forgiveness. An extremely strong and interesting supporting programme will be submitted, comprising many popular and interesting ites. Two Keystone comedies of exceptional interest will be included —"Mother's Boy," a screamer, and "The Bowling Match," repeated by special request.
