At the Police Court to-day, William Tynan was charged with attempting to murder his daughter Evelyn, whom ho waylaid when she was leaving schoo], by cutting her throat with a razor. Prisoner sat throughout the proceedings unconcernedly, and as havmg apparently only a. spectator's interest in the evidence', though occasionally he displayed signs of nervous stress. Detective McMahon stated the prisoner, when nrrected. expressed a desire to be hanged without delay. Mrs Tynan stated that her husband had threatened her previously with a razor, but she had never heard mm threaten the children. Her husband had been drinking to excess. When asked to plead accused remained silent. He was committed i'or trial.
