With the passing of the Russian Married Women's Property Act a new, era starts for Russian women who, before, were unable to hold property, enter business, seek employment or obtain separate passports without their husband's consent. Legal separation which before was also denied them now is possible and it is ruled that the Courts have no power to order restitution of conjugal rights. Under the jhead of sufficient causes for separation come cruelty to the children, rudeness, violence, dishonesty, immorality, dangerous or loathsome illness, the husband in such caaes being compelled to provide alimony. Where there are children the injured party will be allowed care of them.
