NEW SOUTH WALES RAILWAY DISASTER.
A "MISLEADING SIGNAL,
STATEMENT BY THE DRIVER
Sydney, Maxell 17,
Interest is aroused by the statement of the driver of the Temora mail down train that the distant end signal was off when he passed it. By means of the interlocking system, it is impossible to lower the distant signal while the home signal is at danger, or the home signal is on.
An expert gave the opinion that coltl setting in after a hot day might bave contracted the'wire sufficiently to lower the signal.
