SIR STARR JAMESON AND THE
COLONIAL OFFICE.

Mr Swift McNeill, speaking in the House of Commons, drew attention to Sir Starr Jameson's telling the settlers of Rhodesia on the authority of the Colonial Office that they must vote for the renewal of the Charter or join the South African Union.
Mr McNeill described the Chartered Company as a gang of swindler©.
Mr- Harcourt,' in reply; said' Sir Starr Jameson's quotation from the Colonial Office letter was wholly divorced from the context, and there was no justification for its use for electioneering purposes. :
