Napier, March 17. An action j'or alleged slandeiv in which two Waipawa medical men, Drs. Deck and Reed, figure as plaintiff and defendant respectively, is oeing heard at the Supreme Court Dr. Deck claims £501 damages for • statements contained in letters written by Dr. Reed, in which the latter charged Dr. Deck with a breach of professional etiauette in wittingly intruding on one of Dr. Reed's patients. The cause of the action arose during the smallpox scare by Dr. Deck visiting the patient in question in hh capacity of public vaccinator.
