TROUBLE ON THE CALIFORNIAN BORDER.
MARTIAL LAW DECLARED.

- Following a destructive fire at the United States Customs and Post Office at Tecate, California, the United States authorities declared martial law around the neighbourhood. Outrages are alleged to have been committed by Mexicans, and American troops are now patrolling the frontier. The Governor of California ie likely to demand that the Mexicans be given up to justice. There is much ill-feeling between the. Americans and Mexicans in the neighbourhood.
