HAPPY VALLEY.

A very successful social was held I Happy Valley schoolroom $ Wednesday evening. The chairman expressed p! gret that they were losing such an al)| and painstaking teacher, who duritij the four and a-half years she had hi charge of the Happy Valley school h| won the admiration and respect,-^! only of. the children, but of the paren| also, and it was with very deep regfli that they had to wish her good-bM The chairman, as a member of t| School Committee, also expressed re gret that they were losing a teachj with whom they had got on so w«| and who had given such satisfactij to the committee. Cheers were given for M Woollett, the audience singing "P| she's a jolly good fellow." Miss "Wo lett, who was taken by surprise, bnejij thanked them all for the presents tnei had given her, and said it was exceedingly gratifying for her to know tha«| her efforts had been appreciated. ' The chairman then presented the prizes won during the past year. A hearty vote of thanks, carried by acclamation, was passed to those ww had helped to make the evening's entertainment such a sticcess. The ladies provided an abundance of refreshments, which was done amp» justice to, especially by the younger generation. .. Following is the prize list.
