COURSING.
CLUB FORMED IN NEEiSON
(From "The Colonist," Feb. 26.)
A well-attended meeting was held at Young'e Alexandra Hall last evening for the purpose of forming a coursing club. Mr D. Crushek, the convener, explained the object of the meeting, and said he had written for information to the Dunedin Coursing Club, whose reply he read. Mr F. Harford was then voted to the chair and after Messrs McLennan, H. A Stewart, King, Pike, Spiers, and Mr Priddle, of- Blenheim, had addressed the meeting, supporting tho project, itwas proposed by Mr King, and srconded by Mr-Young, that a Nelson District Courting Club be formed, and that all present be constituted mombors. The motion was carried. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mr F. Harford; vice presidents, Messrs Geo. Hogg, F. W. Fairey, V. Spiers, W. McLennan, E. Opie, and H. MeArtney; secretary and treasurer pro. tern., Mr D. Crushek; executive committee (after a ballot), Messrs King, Priddlo, Stewart, Treweek, Bowden. Burnip, and Pike. Mr King moved, and Mr Spiers seconded, that the secretary call & meeting as early as possible to consider the question of securing a Plumpton course, and other business. —Thia.was earned. It was decided to affiliate with tho ]Sw Zealand Coursing Association. It was decided that Mr Harry Divers bo asked to act xis the club's delegate at the annual mating of the association, to.be held at Oamaru on March 12th: Votes of thanks to Mr Young for the use of the room, and to the chairman, concluded tho meeting.
