AUCKLAND HOTEL DAMAGED. . [United Pkess Association.] Auckland, March 15. A lire was discovered in the Shakespeare Hotel, Auckland, last night. The flames burst through the- floor- of the attic occupied by two waitresses. About] SO persons were sleeping in the hotel, i;< addition to the licensee and staff. :i escaped in their night attire. W'hei. ' brigade arrived the flames had burst • .rougli the hotel, but were suppressed i.ithin a quarter of an hour. Much damage was done, chiefly by water.
