Wellington, March 16. The High Commissioner - reports, as follows under date 14th March (quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot) : — • Mutton. —The market is firm. North Island, 4£d per lb. The demand is chiefly' for li&ht weights at as high as 4 7-Bd. There is a dull sale for heavy carcases at 4 l-Bd. Lamb.—There is a sood demand f:>rj -all lamb, but prices have slightly declined for all grades on account of largo supplies coming forward. Canterbury two's 6-Jd, heavy weights 6 3-Bd, other than Canterbury-6i<]. . ijeof.—The market is very dull on account of supplies of American chilled beef being largo; no change in prices. New Zealand hindquarters 4£d, fores •Id, chilled hinds sd, fores 33d. River Plate shipments received durhm February:—

Butter.—Tho market is dull arm nrices irregular. Danish 121s to 1245, New Zealand ll()s to 114s, Australian 108s to 1129,- Argentine 108s to 110s, Siberian 108s to 112s. Cheese.—The raurket.is steady ,at a decline; Canadian market slow, white 68s to 70s, coloured 70s toj 71s, New Zealand in fair demand. White bUs to «3s 6d, coloured 64s 6d to 66s 6d, Australian white 62s to 62s 6d, coloured 63g to 60s. . n , Hemp.—The market is somewhat steadier, with increased demand. New Zealand good to fair, per ton, £25 ss; fair "£°2 15s; April to June"shipments, eood to fair £25 15s, fair £22 15s Stock at end of February was 1,652 tons. __~, - A Manila, fair current per ten £26 10s in ;M positions. The output irom Manila for the week was 20,000 bales. Sisal market quiet at £26 10s. Wheat market has declined 3d por quarter.
