WORLD'S AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS.

DECREASE OF WHEAT ACREAGE

(Received March 5, 11 p.m.)

London, March 5

The agricultural statistics for 1912 have been issued. They show that the expansion of the world's wheat acreage in 1910-11 received a severe check in 1912. In the British Empire it declined by 2,287,000 acres, and in Europe by 2,024,000 acres, chiefly in Russia, while the United States lost 3,729,000 acres.

In the live stock returns Australar sia's reduction of 9,348,000 animals is the largest noted. The decline in European stocks was very marked.
