Mr Winston ;Churchill. speaki/ig at the Aero Club, said the-public 3hould realise that the risks of flying were not excessive. Since he had been at the Admiralty there had been more lives lost m submarine© than in the air service. He predicted that aviation would exercise a, potent influence in military affairs, and on the destinies* of states. He considered the Atlantic flight premature and unduly risky.
