Mr Creswell, M.P., described General Botha as "Louis I. by the grace of God, Defender of Mineowners. 1' He asserted that th© preamble to the Bill contained statements making it & monument of mendacity. The law already provided penalties for inciting to cease work. The charge of treason was the flimsiest since the case of Titus Oates. He admitted there was a conspiracy, but the conspirators occupied the Treasury Benches.
