A low pressure area passed m the south during the night, and strong westerly winds have ruled, especially in and southward of Cook btrait. Cloudy and misty weather has prevailed, and rain has fallen in parts. Present indications are for cloudy and unsettled weather, with rain probable lyejierally; strong -north-west to wrattivest pvevailmgi. The barometer is unsteady, hat has a rising tendency.
