The enthronement of the Right Rev. ■Dr. A. W. Avorill as Anglican Bishop of Auckland took place in St. Mary's "Cathedral this evening. Practically all the clergy of the dioceso were present, -and the ceremony was performed by the Yen. Archdeacon Calder, commissary. A very large congregation was present. The Bishop preached a powerful sermon, and at the close of the service a solemn Te Deiun was sung. The Bishop will celebrate Holy Communion "in the Cathedral at 9 a.m. to-morrow, and will be publicly welcomed at the Town Hall on Thursday.
