ANNUAL SHOW.

The Nelson Kennel Club's annual • show was opened at the Drill/Shed, -.yesterday. 'Che -entries are again -large, particularly' in the classes for greyhounds, pointers, setters, ami -.cocker spaniels, while the ladies' bracelet also attracted a record entry. On ■"tho whole the high standard of quality noticeable at previous shows is fully maintained. Broods new to Nolsun "were Great Danes exhibited by Sir. A. "<K. Baxter, and French poodles shown by Mr. F. H. J)lirbridge, and these "dogs attracted a good deal of attcn•"tion. There was considerable dissatisfaction among tho exhibitors with some ■of the awards of the judge (Mr. W. Stafford, of Christehiirch)-, who got through the whole of the classes by ■two o'clock", and left by steamer for 'Wellington at 2.30, exhibitors contending that with the limited time at his disposal he was unable- to give ■ proper consideration, to tho points of the various dogs' under review. Exception was also taken to some of the specials being awarded from the catalogue, instead pf in the hall, where tho dogs could be inspected. FolloAving is the prize list:— GREAT DANES.
