SHOCKING MACHINERY ACCIDENT.

Christchurch, Sept 22. There was admitted to the hospital B to-day a young man named ' Maurice s Maguiro, suffering from shock and r serious injuries incurred in an acci- . dent at a Woodend flaxmill. Maguire was working in the mill, when his left hand was drawn into the machinery, s and his arm torn off just below the y shoulder, very seriously lacerating the shoulder also. Dr Will, of Rangiora, attended to him and sent him to town after the injuries had been attended to. At tho hospital Maguire was reported as progressing as favourably, as could be expected, though still suffering from shock.
