InveroargUl, Aug. 24. A fire occurred at 9.30 a.m. to-day in a boot shop in' Dee street owned and occupied by John McCurdy. An addition was-being made to the building, and bage of lime had been left near a wall. Heavy rain fell during the night, and the water fell on the lime, which caused the outbreak. The building was seriously damaged, and the stock suffered considerably from heat and. smoke. The insurance on the stock was: South British £1400, New Zealand £800, United £200; on the building, South British. £460, Alliance, London and Liverpool and Globe, and Standard £225 each.
