When Lieutenant Jandric was arrested his papers included a lotter from the chief ef the Foreign Espionage Bureau, directing him to receive letters from Redl, and also a cypher. This was used in the telegram summoning Redl from Prague to Vienna. Redl immediately went, detectives following him.

Tho authorities are criticised for failing to suspect the origin of largo sums Redl was spending. Ho received £10,000 for last winter's work. Counter movements throughout tho crisis enabled Russia to reply to the movements of the Austrian forces, and Russia sometimes anticipated Austrian plans.

Throe arrests have been made in Vienna, and others are expected. Jandric was sentonced to life imprisonment in a fortress.
