POSITION IN NEW SOUTH WALES.

FIVE LABOUR SEATS THREAT-

ENED

LIBERALS LIKELY TO LOSE

ILLAWARRA

LABOUR GAINS IN VICTORIA

(Received June 2, 0.30 a.m.)

Sydney, June 1

On the present figures five .Labour seats in New South Wales are threatened, viz., Nepean, Calaro, New England, Robertson, and Werriwa, and it is fairly certain that the Liberals will suffor a reverse for Illawarra, but even some of these positions are yet capable of much alteration. '

In Victoria two, if not three. Labour gains are pretty well assured, whilo Westralia promises one.

Tho returns from tho other fifcatos are not complete enough .to forecast upon. As far as the Senate figures have gone they show that Labour is holding its own.
